Bathing

When you have run your bath and are the water is the right temperature for you, sprinkle a combined total of 6 drops of essential oils straight into the water, or add to a small amount of full cream milk or alcohol, then agitate the water very thoroughly. This will help to disperse all of the essential oils so they are not sitting on top of the water in blobs. If you put the essential oils into very hot water they will immediately evapourate and lose their valuable properties. A tepid or warm bath is far more beneficial and relaxing.

If you would like to make your selection a little simpler, check out one of our Bath Soak or Shower Gels

Massage

Massage is wonderful for comforting muscles and moving toxins. It's spiritually uplifting, gets the circulation going and is a welcome drink for the skin.

Add a combined total of 6 drops of essential oils to a carrier oil (20mls is fine for an average size body), you'll need more carrier oil for dry skin as it gulps it all up very quickly.

If you would like to make life a little easier, you may wish to make a selection from our Pre Blended Massage Oils

Steam Inhalation

Use up to a combined maximum of 8 drops of Essential Oils in a bowl of hot water.

Steam inhalation is a time honoured method for clearing nasal passages. Drop the oils on to the surface of a bowl of hot water, cover your head with a towel and gently inhale for about 10 minutes.

Skin & Beauty Care

Essential Oils lend themselves perfectly to blending in Oil/Creams/Lotions/Gels, and this is where you can really get to grips with the aromatics of essential oils.

You may wish to blend yourself a product simply for the aroma, or you may have other reasons for your chosen blend. Simply enjoy using the oils.

Add a combined total of 6 drops of essential oil to 20ml of Oil/Cream/Lotion/Gel

Dry Inhalation

Handy for a quick inconspicuous sniff, just sprinkle 3 drops of essential oil on a dry tissue and inhale when you feel the need.

Aromastones & Oil Burners

Why not try our Oil Burners and Aromastones? Just add water and a few drops of your favourite essential oil and enjoy the aromas. Our aromastone allows the essential oils to warm gently and is a safe alternative where candles would be unsuitable.

Using Spritzers - Hydrolats

Hydrolats (Spritzers) are delicate, pure and free of alcohols and chemicals. They are gathered during the distillation of essential oils and are valuable materials in their own right and can be used on their own or alongside essential oils.

Here are some ideas for using hydrosols:

toning skin
freshening linen
cooling hot flushes
freshening the bathroom
spritzing hair
refreshing the air during travel - spritz the car or hotel room
cleansing recycled air
making your own wet wipes
